Had to collar the eldest lad to give me a lift with the base the other day, (that's always a last resort option. He's a walking disaster as a rule, hence I'll try owt first to avoid requiring his help
), as I can just abouts manage single handed for carrying it, but with the weird shape of it, there's no way I'd have been able to get it in the vat on my own without following it in.

mine is in good condition mechanical wise as i re built it but wouldnt win any prizes for the paint job
Wasn't impressed when that brush decided to play silly beggars earlier either. God knows what happened with that thing, but it decided to suddenly start shedding fragments of bristle like there was no tomorrow.

Not unexpected with rough cast though.Hello MattF,
I have a picture of mine here, it's a more basic model than yours by the look of it.
I did consider stripping it down and repainting etc but I bought it because I needed a saw to cut 7" beams at the time, so I never got round to cleaning it up.
It is a job on the list for when I retire!
I was looking for a bandsaw at the time but could not find something reasonable for the money I wanted to spend, I am glad i got it as it has grown on me.
Lets be honest there isn't much that can go wrong with them either.
I did however splash out on a new 10tpi blade!
Keep up the good work.
Cheers
Ed
if mine was that tidy to begin with, there would be no renovation!
That machine of yours looks quite tidy as is Edd.
