The relief valve was set at the factory, max power was usually achieved with just 4 pumps & once that valve lifted you could put twenty more in & it would do diddly squat. Mine did 11.5 on the four pumps. The worst thing about these was the trigger got heavier the more you put in. If you screwed that valve shut for more power the trigger pull got so heavy you couldnt hit owt anyway.
It was heavy enough set just under the limit. Sharp ace was the better built more expensive version, wish i still had mine!
'Tis true, however the replacement valves are not quite the same as they do not know whether or not (trust you enough?) you are putting it in a .177 or a .22. There is a difference.
