Disconnect the wires connected to it and check with the multimeter set in diode mode
Positive lead in the centre negative on the side plates you should have continuity only one way (from negative to positive plate)
If you have continuity both directions you have one more faulty diodes
Ok will give it a test when I get a chance.
Here is what the contactors do, big one is for the main current and small is the pilot arc.
As can be seen in the video both pull in when I pull the trigger and as soon as the main arc initiates the small contactor drops out but the big one only drops out when I release the torch trigger.
Also the component on the PCB is indeed a transformer.
Full image of the PCB, as can be seen there are 3 variable resistors so if I decide to adjust to get a higher current I will have to find out which is which, I am guessing the one nearest the centre will be it as it looks like it has been adjusted after the conformal coating has been applied and thus likely when doing the final adjusting/testing.
