it wouldnt be worth the hassle of sourcing gears and making the fittings and countershaft ect to alter it for the odd large hole to be drilled .the cost of gears alone make it a non starter


Cheers, I don't want to part with it as it's a solid old beast. Will ask around for a set of back gears, but there is a better chance of politicians going legit than finding a set. Will keep an eye out for one of them sealy drills, but my workshop space is limited. What did you mean with reverse switch? Is it a 3ph drill?

Where do you get a reverse switch for 8 quid??No, just a single. The switch is a handy addition when tapping, and for around £8 I can't think of a better value item.

easy to work out when u can test with meter though i only use mine for on or off . i just hand crank the spindle if i want reverse u have more controll and can use it for tapping threads
Cost nothing, as I had the extra motor in the shed, complete with pulley.
