Right then for a while ive been urging myself to restore our old petter engine which was bought new by my grandad in 1951 for the milking parlour and was last used in 1980 so here goes
then this morning started stripping the engine down but most of the parts where in a bucket next to the engine
then had a hell of a job to get the pulley off took 3 hours but eventually manage to fabricate my own gear puller from a 9 hole fergie drawbar 2 threaded gate hinges and a central threaded bar and finally it managed to pull it off
and thank god I did take it off as it was full of s***
then I got the steamcleaner out and steam cleaned all the engine parts and the engine itself
so now ill gring off the rust thats left and start painting when I find the paint
anyone got any idea how to get the flywheel off as I cant get the wedge key out and ive tried my top quality pullers but with no luck I was going to cut it out with the gas bt then it will unbalance the flywheel
