My wife's Discovery is suffering badly from peeling lacquer, the bonnet is very dull all over and more lacquer is coming off pretty much daily now.
The top edge of the left front wing and both left doors are also going.
She asked a couple of bodyshops to price it up but they didn't want to know. As we've just spent a large amount of money on having the rear chassis replaced, the car is a keeper and I'd like to have a go at tidying it up myself.
I know it's not going to be as simple as removing the old lacquer and applying new but it's been such a long time since I've painted anything I'm very out of date with what's now available to the diyer.
Last time I bought any paint the choice was cellulose or "synthetic".
She's out in it at the moment but when she's back I'll take a few photos to show the extent of the damage.
