you never sand or key basecoat before lacquer. ever. if you have to flat a run out you can spray a light coat of base locally with no issue. once base is flashed of you then hit the entire panel with lacquer before the end of the overcoat window. if you miss the end of the overcoat window, you must key the entire panel, put a coat of base on, wait for it to flash off (30 mins or so) and then overcoat with lacquer.
You see a lot of cars with peeling clear coat. Is one of the reasons for that putting on the cc outside the overcoat window?





I also needed to painted the inside the B pillar,spraying was not viable. I then used a brush,it came out better than the sprayed panel
