Painting a front wing

Picking up a used front wing and it is in the wrong colour. I thought I should give it a quick spray before fitting as I might not get time otherwise, and I'd prefer to only fit it only once! Currently silver, it will become metalic red.

Years since I did any painting so I could use a reminder. Do I need to sand it right back, or can I key the existing paint with p600 and basecoat?
I expect my epoxy primer, filler and 2k clear have gone off so may need to get some. Or use 1k clear for now..

Flat back with 600 and apply the base coat.
If it's factory finish it shouldn't need anything else unless there is some rust or other damage.

I'd be surprised if the 2K clear is off, more likely the hardiner is off but if it's still runny it's worth a punt.
Spray a test piece to make sure it cures.

If it's a modern wing, I can't think you will have any issues with mechanical abrasion and epoxy.

When I've picked up ropey old landrover panels that have been brush painted with unknowns over time, it's a different situation, but a modern wing will have stable / unreactive coatings.
