Without your age, PMH, and all that, we're all just speculating.

I'm no doctor, and don't think anyone else on here is a doctor of medicine.

Not yet. As you can see in your quote I said I am going to see what they say. But I only decided on Thursday it was necessary and Fri morning all appointment were gone when I managed to get through.

I am 65 recently had either a flu jab or covid jab in that arm 6 weeks ago. (1 in each arm).
As I have posted i am not after medical advise just finding out if others have had similar symptoms.

I was wondering about DVT or clot but my gut feeling feels like it's a nerve/tendon issue possibly caused by a jab. But as you say I am not a Doctor.

It's really hard to break a hypodermic needle, I'd be very, very surprised if that's the issue.

You can bend them. Never seen one break.

Dentist managed to break one off in my face when I was about 14. I told him I have hay fever, and if I start waving my hands about while he is putting needles in it means I'm going to sneeze. He shoved a 6" needle up into the gum between my two front teeth and I knew I was going to sneeze immediately.....hands were waved wildly.... he ignored it, I sneezed, needle broke...

He was Australian, and, I found out several years later, he had a reputation for being an absolutely useless dentist.

After that episode, and the resultant digging around with pliers to remove the needle, I refused to have anaesthetic at dentists for over a decade. I just gripped the armrests and suffered the agony of the drill in silence.

I had my flu jab a couple of months ago and now I get a lot of pain in my left shoulder/biceps ...if I lie on it in bed it wakes me up in agony. I thought the needle may have snapped cos I have never suffered before and I've had a lot of jabs over the years!!
I'm due to see the nurse in a couple of weeks so will ask her opinion ...the actual jab was very painful so not sure if she was a beginner!!

I have done a few mountain rescue cas care courses . The question of broken needles came up . We tried to snap them by pushing them in to wood , they just bend . We were trained in IM injections (muscle) .
IV into a vein is a whole different game . This gives instant results . professional medics and drug users .

Yes, they will. Larger ones particularly, say 18GA and bigger, very often within the bevelled part. Most farm assurance schemes require a broken needle policy written down somewhere. Meat processing units usually have metal detectors, because consumers don’t like finding the fragments in their rump steak, where most cow injections go.

I have to admit being momentarily ofended by the replies taking the urine about asking medical advice on a mig welding forum. Lol until I really the nature of text and context etc.

Don't get offended , Most of us make light of life due to the heavy loads we carry that life has landed us with .

Though do see a face to face doctor and have all your signs & symptoms typed & printed , leave the list with them as well .
At most surgery's these days they have blood pressure testing , electro cardiograph machines and almost instant blood sugar & urine test testing to help them diagnose your symptoms . Unfortunately we welders , metal bashers , maniacs & bodgers don't have such gear readily to hand to give you a WIFI examination .

There is no such thing as a stupid question , many others will also be thinking the same as you in every aspect of your life .

You are far more likely to get an answer from someone like myself on a welding forum than from a GP nowadays. I really am an actual Doctor - an accident and emergency, or nowadays emergency department Consultant. Most important part of the job is common sense, with a load of medical knowledge on top. To recycle to the top of this thread it could be jab related pain, could be a trapped nerve, could be a muscular issue or ultimately could be an impending heart attack. As I said even after 30 years as a Doctor I can't diagnose that over the internet, so best to check.

I seem to remember when at school everyone was getting a vaccine, a girl in the queue ahead of me had a needle snap in her arm, it set a few people on edge

Is that possibly as many farmers use shall we say non new needles. Saves a fair bit in cost jabbing 500 sheep with the same needle. Bent a fair few, not snapped one yet.

Ask the right question and you might get the right answer.

Have you ever come up against a doctor's receptionist? I'm just surprised that they don't arm them these days, or at least have a vat of boiling oil! Their job is to prevent you from seeing a doctor if they can help it.
I'm under par currently, but I will wait it out rather than run the gauntlet.
