Holy cow....well I hope its not that.Sounds like neuralgia. If so my sympathies are with you as I get bouts of it too. In my case it goes on for a few days until the medication kicks in (carbamazepine).
During my first attack, before I had the correct drugs, I was taking all sorts of strong pain killers to try to dampen the pain - they didn't do much. I was definitely overdosing but I didn't care if I died, as long as the pain stopped. (suicide is common among sufferers).
To be fair I managed to get a triage. ( not quite an appointment) the receptionist decided it was likely to be muscular. So they got a physio to phone me.
I feared the worst having had a physio appointment during covid. Remote diagnosis AND treatment was pants.
But this time a nice young lad suggested I need a hands on approach and two days later some paperwork came for me to book an appointment.
