Tree roots?lots of long black hair all the way up.
video would be betterAccess cover open, initially it looks quite discusting - lots of long black hair all the way up. Has someone tried to flush Rapunzel? But the two pipes frlm next door, the outlet and our kitchen pipe look clear. Ran the tap and flushed the downstairs loo. Took a good 30 seconds for it to bubble out of a mass of black sht and hair? I assume its hair.. cant be mine as my longest hairs are up my nose! The black mass was hiding our houses main outlet pipe from being visible. Im reasonably sure the pipes will be flowing free enough its just where it meets the access and turns 90 degrees.
Now thanks to @gaz1 's videos I think its an easy fix. A long stick to poke it free and a big bucket of water aimed at that mass should send it away, followed by a tons more water.
Also from the videos, more times than not, even the professionals manage to get a face full of poo when using the jet wash. No, could not pay me enough to use one on a drain!
Should I post the photo?![]()
The main sewer end is clear and flowing dry.video would be better
Just scanned through this thread and it may have been pointed out already so apologies but-Rodding is good for short straight lengths, say 50' max after that proper drain cleaning jet wash. If you rod DO NOT under any circumstance use the rubber disk - they jam on pipe branches and will cause you more problems. Rod from down stream so you are pulling back towards you. I used to find the hinged D scraper best, but be warned they can catch on joints.
Either way you need to work from access chamber to access chamber.
When I read this last night, its the thing of nightmares! Did not sleep I was watching tree root unblocking videos!you need to get someone in with a camera to stuck up/down the drain and have a look
then when you find where the drain is broken it needs digging out and fixing :-(
it'll be a broken drain leaking water which has attracted the roots
If that's from next doors bush, she needs a doctorIt was very difficult to scoop up the roots, used the branch lopper to pull it out and there was a big risk of it cutting and splashing back down! About 5 kg of turd roots, likely from next doors bush.
It was fully clear in June, so 6 months ago, quite sure its not roots as theres no significant trees between my house and the end house of the row. This has probably built up from last time you cleared it kram.
Yes I used a old bayleaf trunk as a plunger in the kitchen drain and there was a bar-of-soap-sized fatberg came free. Its now about the same level as the main access chamber level.have a latte handy ?
screw 2 long screws in the wood all the way through and send that down the drain as its the kitchen drain
screw it around a few times and if its just fat in the gulley it may clear it kitchen sink to drain usually catches that fat the most same as the shower does
look for your manhole cover most houses have them and check in there
if its backing up in there then theres an issue with the main drains being blocked
as goes for the one refusing not much you can do about them just hope one day they will have a massive issue to deal with and when drain people come round tell them to get off your property and look in there own drains as i do and tell them where it is
then its there problem not yours
well this is wrong. absolutely wrong (unless the water undertakers rules are different in England to the rules in Wales)...beaware thats not always true
ive known the ones in a row to all foot the bill until it leaves the last propertys land and connects to the main drain
your responsible up to the join at the manhole, there responsible up to the manhole, your both responsible until it leaves your poperty
