Sorry to hear of your setback, wishing you a speedy recovery. I too would gladly offer help with lifting etc on your project as i always look forward to your updates. Its only about half hour from Luton to your place and I'm available most weekends (although i am nowhere near your level of skill). Merry Christmas and i hope the New Year brings a huge improvement to your health.

Get well soon Steve. Wishing you a swift and full recovery. I'm sure I'm not the only one hoping to see you back in your workshop sharing your handiwork ASAP!
Keep up with the exercises Steve, They do eventually help ......................... so I'm told.
I have spine problems too & I'm on Morphine as well .. The first three months adjusting to it were the worst , half an hour after the morning or night dose i would sit in an arm chair & fall asleep for a few min . till my lass got wise and put me to bed abut 20 min after each dose.
I'm still on it & all manner of stuff but the effect is not so disabling .
You're not wrong about day time TV ........... it's as bad as night time TV.
I got friends to make me a new computer table set up in the lounge using three old one metre wide fire doors .
The top of the table is 38 inches from the carpet . It helps for me to sit bolt upright at the table and be able to rest my arms on the table whilst I type .
I have also found it a lot more comfortable sitting on my new off chair with arms & a high back most of the time than using an arm chair .
Was being nosey and checking what progress has been made on the project and came across your posting about your health. I missed this all as I was away over the hols.
I hope your feeling much better now and making good progress. Take it easy and let your body recover, you'll be as good as gold in no time at all
How are you keeping occupied, chasing the nurses with a stick?
Shall we organise a visit with some welding gear and a load of SS ?
Not sure they're ready for a lowered trolley with a hemi block...Shall we organise a visit with some welding gear and a load of SS ?
