Octavia and Passat gearbox compatible?

Is Sachs a decent brand? I am sure I have heard the name before but not being into cars I don't know if that is a good name or not.
It does sound very cheap for all that is in the kit and cheap usually means not great.

@Hood both are OE manufacturers, But in recent times the quality of LUK has become questionable

Oh and definitely agree with dont go single mass. They can damage gearbox input bearings by the added vibrations even though they claim "magic uber dooper balanced clutch pack kit"

Not only that, they can damage crankshafts.
I remember an article in a trade mag that featured a taxi firm who iirc fitted 7 solid conversions to Skodas, and 3 of them snapped crankshafts about 30k later.

I know from what I've seen personally, fitting them to older transits wrecks 5 speed boxes, and the suppliers doesn't recommend the kits for 6 speed gearboxes, which I think says it all.

Got the Sachs DMF, clutch kit and Scirocco gearbox, all I need to do now is see who will fit it for me.

Mine has done 145k miles and going back through the receipts I got with it it doesn't even seem to have had a clutch replaced, maybe that one is just missing but if not then I don't think I would be to bothered about the DMF needing replaced every second clutch

Picked up the car from the garage 30 mins ago, only done a mile run home but it is nice to not have any noise again. Also got an MOT done and had to get some rear suspension parts fitted for that but it is nice to have the old car back again

Anyone want to buy a 2004 Rover 75 with only 80K miles
