Or you could have your house on wheels and move it every week close to where you are Robin ( your name is Robin isnt it ?) that would be a good idea there are loads of areas where you can park up for free and have no hassle

our local common land at the moment (plus another 20ish) the council have provided mobile toilets for them !!!

Oh hang on, you wont be able to tow coz your car wont pull it ?? I'm sure the government will provide free transport for all caravanners and toilets as they have on our common for all the Robin's on there.

The title is a bit misleading. No petrol/diesel cars to be manufactured or sold after 2040, thats not the end because fuel will be available for many years after that date to service agriculture, industry and vehicles that are not new.

Try banning tobacco products and vaping completely on health grounds and see what the response is, I see the air quality and damage to health from vehicles in a similar vein.

Where will all the light aircraft and private classic vehicle collections go along with the industry that caters for them? Some run into multi millions of pounds and I don't see those people will be willing to lose their investments overnight nor the ability to use them so there will be a market for petrol albeit in vastly reduced quantities.

The green nazis will have a mileage cap imposed, max 500 miles a year in your oil burner.

I'm wondering which way prices of conventional cars would go in 2039. Would electric cars have improved so much nobody would want conventional cars anyway, or would prices rise because people wanted to hang on to them for the next 10 years? or would the whole thing be a white elephant by that time.

Well given that the whisky industry reckons it can make a fuel from its up till now waste that can be configured as a petrol replacement or a diesel replacement
I reckon cars will be renamed sustainable clean burn or something more snazzy. No mods needed just a change in marketing. Gov directive complied with. Greenies fuming

The whiskey industry already uses it. They make Gin and Vodka from it. Hense all the new Gins coming out, it can be produced without barreling for a min of 3yrs. So the new distillery has some thing to market until the whiskey is ready.

(Grants used to have 5000ltrs a day pumped into the irsh sea before they brought out Taboo, and Mirage. Now the only turn it to Gin)
