Is that chassis rot? I am hoping the seller will put it on his ramp for a proper inspection as I cannot get on the floor these days!

No rear floor/susp turrets, guy at work had one fail mot badly, think it was an 04/5 model, looked very smart as well from the outside!

No rear floor/susp turrets, guy at work had one fail mot badly, think it was an 04/5 model, looked very smart as well from the outside!

Should I dare say it? Look for a decent Toyota Surf.
Most are auto, most have a tow bar fitted, mine at least is fairly rust free and is miles off an MOT fail.
Parts are easy to get as it's based on a Landcruiser 90 so as solid as it gets for this kind of vehicle.
Edit: there is also definitely no sign of anything Renault involved

There used to be a saying, "Once you've had a Renault you'll always have a Renault", people always made it sound it was because you liked them but the reality is the only way you'd ever get any decent money back was to trade in for a new one

I would like to but I can't find one that is the main problem. I have looked at lots of cars over the last few weeks. I just can't find something to suit my criteria that is close enough.

Renault have made some pretty good cars over the years, I borrowed Renault 21 multivalve pool car once to go for an internal interview. It had a fuel card and I had it wound right out on the M25, no cameras back then. It was white and had a body kit. It went really well. I think I filled it up 3-4 times in 36 hours

My first car was also a Renault can't remember if it was an 8 or a 10, the only car I bought that I made a profit on when I sold it.

Cheers my friend the problem with distance is the other half doesn't travel well. When we picked up the Range Rover from London it was a bit of a palaver. Not something I care to repeat!

I had 3 Nissan Sunny motors way back (an estate, a van and a saloon) and they were unremarkable but reliable and trustworthy.
Renault since say the infamous Laguna fusebox-festival dismal reliability Heap (their car offerings not commercial) I'd not have faith or money invested in.

When did Nissan tie-up with Renault? For me the cut-off point for Nissan ownership would be pre-Renault (generally I subscribe to the "buy French cheese, buy French Wine, don't buy French cars" club).

Sadly buying used cars is a drawn out process, that is very time consuming. Another to consider in that size might be kia Sportage of Hyundai equivalent or the Skoda yeti. Buy a good car a tow bar is a bonus, but readily available used. And just pay a man to fit it

Yeti 2l diesel 4x4 plus tow bar . Just make sure the Halex box has been serviced . Brilliant car / small van.

My wife used to have a Renault Koleos, a great car until the gremlins took the engine. It too was a 2008. I did not realise that Nissan and Renault were an item! I think I will pass on this and keep looking.
