Many friends used to call in, most on Japanese two strokes. Hours of fun in that garage.

Real nostalgia . I think you hit a nail on the head when you mentioned "dads Bonnie". Most kids nowadays aren't lucky enough to have a dad that has any interest in hands on hobbies let alone m/c's and those that have are interested in the latest wizz bang pretend GP/Dakar/Adventure bikes. To each his own .

Saw locally that someone is selling a very low miles, original & pretty tidy (in pics)......

1980 MZ250 Supa 5, for a grand.

I never owned one (nor ridden one) - I always wanted something cooler & faster (of course), but even as a Spotty I could appreciate its rugged simplicity.

I was (very briefly, just for a moment) - tempted.

I had one, in fact the only bike I ever bought new, from 1981 to 85-ish as a work commuter. Great for that, and even did a few long trips on it, only weak spot was the dynamo in the end. I even lusted after the replacement, the one with 12V electrics.
Even at that, they're not worth more than a couple of hundred.
