You're going to be putting drainage lowest, so that's just the 110mm on its own. Water above it, then your power and data. I don't think you'd need anything special packing around the drain pipe.

I've just done a surface water drain, 6" trench with 4" perforated pipe. There was room for plenty of shingle around the pipe as well as below.

Consumer unit mounting height guidance recommend the "switches" to be between 1350 and 1450mm from floor level.

Isn't that a bit discriminatory against the less abled, wheelchair bound? As in "switches" no higher than 1200mm as in Part M?

I prefer to sit on a chair and work in the board rather than uncomfortably stoop.

You can get SWA with cat 5e in it too..search screw fix for EV charger cable…there are cheaper suppliers

How does the separate Cat-5 and SWA enter the EV point?

Just through a glands? This is the EV charger and the cables will enter from the rear.

last one i did had swa gland underneath and a 20mm conduit entry . doing one tomorrow and its pre wired with a rubber flex a meter long on it 3 core and cat 5 cable , goes in to an adaptable box then swa to db. im using ev armoured only because its getting clipped to a wall 30 meters long not underground price is £7.00 pm for 6.0mm

Look at at EV ultra prices, Its not that dear on small jobs in the grand scheme of things.
The Cat 5 is for twisted pairs for CT Clamps and data transfer on usage ..although some work on Wi-Fi

I'd already found squirreled away, a 20m 'ish length of 16 mm² SWA to upgrade the supply from the house to the garage

For my EV point I was trawling FB etc looking for 6 or 7 m of 6 mm² EV ultra cable to go from the new garage cu to the EV point as in along the cream garage wall below.The 6 or 7 m point was for the charger was tbh a compromise based on the fact I would likely have to buy it. The chalk X below the lantern was the easy / cheap run but doesn't really suit the way we all park. It'd be better the other side of the garage to the right. That's about a 15 m run.

Then after a bit of digging in a garden storage corner yesterday I found circa 19 m of 4 core 10 mm²! Dragged it down the garden just now, hauled it through the back door a metre at a time and cleaned it up with a sponge scourer and some bleach / soapy water:

Now I've just got to fit it, on my own, in a badly lit, crammed to the ceiling garage. Hopefully I can find some size 9 cleats. If I can I'll think my luck really is changing!

If you are running it above the door it may be worth investing in fire rated clips plus they make it much easier for one man person installation as you fit the clips first then install the cable.

I used them when installing a few SWA runs in @Cato unit.

Thanks. It'll go along one wall clipped to the wall plate, then across the top of the double doors. You can see the wall plate on the opposite side of the garage before I affixed 50mm trunking along this side and the rear of the garage:

So the EV armoured will come along the opposite wall plate, along over the grey painted I beam above the double doors, down and through the wall to the EV point.

The cables down by the back of the Capri are what go to the front gate. As aforementioned all now run in trunking attached to the wall plate above where the lead light is:

Access / escape door is at the rear of the garage.
