Hi there,
If this is the wrong forum, please feel free to move it or let me know.
I recently purchased a new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon just 1 1/2 weeks ago with less than 1k miles and didn't really get a chance to get up under it until a couple of days later. When I did I was shocked at some of the welds and it seems like a wide-spread problem with the new 2018 Wranglers. There are a lot of owners who have noticed this same weld issue but I wanted to get some expert opinion on the level of porosity, slag, and other issues. Most all of the frame welds are misaligned or have excessive weaving, incomplete, have poor stop/starts, and the most serious issue I could spot was the deep cluster porosity.
These pics added below are of the front and rear track bar brackets. One owner has had his front track bar shear off at highway speeds. Thankfully, no one was hurt. I think it would be very useful to get some expert opinions on these welds and I feel this is definitely the place to do it.
What do you guys think of these welds? And can someone please explain the color of the welds (orange/rust color)? They are definitely not painted or either paint will not adhere to them. Thanks in advance!
