I hope he used high temp spray glue!
Also advise adding extra butyl pads on all panels to stop vibrations and the noise when it rains heavy.

its supprising how easy that stuff is to work with it streches molds quite easy and looks impessive like a proper made panels

He did indeed. Trimfix supplied with the carpet is high temp. It was bought for my T5 but this has taken priority as mine won’t be ready for a bit. I just want to see him on the road with the bit between his teeth. That’s a good motivator.

Failed today (or test was cancelled at least) with issues up front. One piece hidden by a riveted plate, three or four crusty pieces in drivers side inner arch and outriggers.
All areas I’d not visited yet. All other areas already worked on were acceptable thankfully. Worst part is I’m not about for two weeks so he has to get someone to deal with it. Ces’t la vie!
Couple of issues, no big deal but someone else has to sort them.
Found a patch riveted over a hole again!
Couple of outrigger replacements,
Then a few small repairs
Not a massive amount of work all things being equal, just annoyed that I never had time to rectify before going away.

Nothing against VW, I've had them in the past and recently. I had a Mk8 Golf R Line, very very nice car and the ID 4
Had several company supplied vans and my own until a few weeks ago, nothing wrong with them as vans but they are just a van, i got mine in a good deal, I wasn't looking and wouldn't have paid retail. Mine was 3 years old, ex fleet and had apparently been used to ferry party supplies around, discovered some interesting items behind the seats

We have a few VW's and know they have issues but still love them, I cannot wait to be 100% well and back to doing the cars
I drove 2 T4's, a 1.9 and a 2.4 for work back when they first came out and covered many miles in them. Drove like a car but those seats were so hard and uncomfortable!
That was when I was in my 20's and much fitter. God knows how much more uncomfortable they would feel now with my many aches and pains!
I find the seats in my 2014 Dispatch very comfortable, much better than the ones in my 2016 Golf! Is hard seats a VW thing?

Mine has the single seats with arm rests, they are still in good condition but I think they are designed to keep you from falling asleep, not great after a few hours.

My lad is currently driving to Risca, Newport to collect a couple of chassis cuts (£120 the pair). Hi ex boss is supposed to be doing the main repairs (he can sort the small weld jobs out himself I think but has no confidence in his abilities to do the big ones). His thought process is he is trying to make life as easy as possible for his ex boss so he doesn’t back out. If he does I’ll do it once I’m home and he can borrow my T5 for Busfest.

Yes, the centre panels will be removable so he ca get behind the walls or the ceiling. Thanks for thinking about it though.
He got a rock n roll bed from a Holdsworth T4 camper along with Zig Unit, hook up, Gel leisure battery and inverter but none of that is ready yet until he has the mot sorted.
