Bow repair...
Unless you are planning on ram raiding it'll probably hold up lol !
..
and a pair of old curtains coz buying matting would have eaten too much into the old toper's beer budget. He said he knew it was a good repair because he'd tested it with a sledge hammer
.
Odd that this is the first time that has been mentioned after thousands of folk who have and work on boats have not mentioned that. I have never seen that done ( double taper then laminate ) my self either but a good suggestion for next time.
The old fellow wasn't daft - believe it or not [some] curtains from the 60s/70s were made from fibreglass.
Must be a few YBW folk on here i guess.
What log in name do you use there? I am on it too.

I think i have sorted the strength problem in the repair, i have been thinking on making an anchor locker, instead of redoing the repair with the outer taper etc etc, the locker will go down as far as the repair and will be bonded to the bow.
So a hunt around on a sunday afternoon to find a 4x0.75 tap, no joy but i got a light socket tap, the type electricians use the clean the backplate socket threads. Only a 4x 0.5 thread i think

I actually thought that the hole in the bow in the early shots was a drain for your anchor locker, so assumed a bulkhead a bit back.
Frankly, while it may not be a 'correct' repair, you would have to punt something quite hard to knock it back, and you are obviously more skilled than that....)
Missed your last 'fun' with the frames & seals. 'Good buys' often have their own hidden joys... I just bought some rubber seals from Seals Direct. Turned up the next day!
For your information, electrical accessory screws are 3.5 mm
Nice stuff you are doing there. Congrats. On the way to being a silk purse Like most thinks, it is not the material, but the effort.
Edit: The cabin front lights look like a clear case of Perspex or Polycarbonate in an old style windscreen seal, esp with the rounded corners and slight curve.
But, just remembered, you are probably passed that by now...
