I think the tranny rear wheel drive isn't the best design having to remove the half shaft and the huge wheel bearing retaining nut simply to renew the rear disc

I worked for an independent also a bosch service center. Our service advisor booked one in as a while you wait. Gave me the job, I said I hope they brought a pack up lol.

Think it was drum on rear??? Can't realy remember. Sure it was. Am I thinking right.

AUTODATA=disc and pads == 2.5 hrs for both sides

Rear drums arnt a problem, to do shoes, you dont even have to take the wheels off.

I'm sure I had to take half shafts out. It's bugging me. I remember doing a transit, taking half shafts out and it was a tw*t to do. Just dont remember the left hand thread caliper. It was a few years ago now. Not a mechanic anymore. Was family run, got stressful. Was a welder made redundant was only 20 so went to work for family business and to college, got a nvq 3 in mechanics but left for welding again not long after I finished college. Love working on vehicles but a very busy family run independent can get stressful. So went back to welding last July.

if you removed the half shafts you would have been either replacing the discs or shoes for handbrake

N/S Rear calliper is left hand thread wind back

We did a Golf a couple of years ago and I'm pretty sure that had left hand thread handbrake as well.
