Ours was the 5 cwt version with the painted slatted grill rather than the full width chrome Anglia type fitted to the 7 cwt. ( me nerdy or what ).

did a bit more today between Anglia exhaust and tea drinking!

Cut out one skin on the right side rear spring box where it was swollen with rust, made / welded in a patch,



another area further forward, one skin replaced,



moving over to the left side, more spring box repairs, not as bad as the right side, moved the stand for better access! had to drill a new hole to make the stand higher,





the sills have no rust through!



inside a 50 year old Mk2 Jaguar sill with zero rust proofing! will get the waxoil treatment..... the wiring loom runs down each sill...

I bet a few people found they had no lights after gas welding a patch on the bottom of a sill back in the day, and only two fuses for the whole car! well fuses are overrated!

Anglia exhaust finished, not as easy as it sounds, managed to fit a BMW middle box between the rear axle and the back of the front seats, ran the pipe up the tunnel to keep it out of harms way, back to more important things, Jaguar Mk2, Welded up the left side rear spring box, and a patch on the inner sill, then welded in the new jacking point, have the seat pan to finish on both sides and the lower wheel tub on the left but I am attempting to let the Jag down tomorrow and move it along side the lift so I can get better access to the front of the car and the left side, painting it in January??

on that subject I am very much thinking of Carmen red with dark red leather, it currently is very dark green with black vinyl interior, I don't like black interiors and cannot find a Jaguar green that I would like to live with, The leather interior I have is not perfect but should recolour ok, and it is dark red,

PPE! so my wife locked herself out yesterday and wondered why I did not hear her phoning me!



I just hope the left front jacking point is as solid as it looks, getting bored with welding them in!

Spent today moving the Jag so I can finish the welding and start paintwork, also dug the engine and box out of shed 3 and moved into shed two (workshop), I put the front wheels onto the Jag with a view to using skates and a pallet truck under the rear due to the rear axle not being installed, remember this Jag is fairly complete with interior, front suspension, dash, boot and bonnet, all doors, all glass, I thought there was no way the pallet truck attachment to the car lift actually lift the car up, well it did!!!!! so we were able to move it around the workshop, no skates, no pallet truck under the back,

Not my work, Jack was helping me push it around, he started with the "Jack" it went on from there!

spent most of the day looking for all the bits that my helpers tidied up for me yesterday! stripped the front suspension off, stripped some bits from the XJ6 3.4 engine to see what is needed to convert the engine mounts, nothing is needed they bolt straight on! need to fit a Mk2 water pump as the XJ one is longer, no room for the fan! cut some rust out of the front, full of filler in rust holes, last on the road in 1979 when it was 11 years old! how it survived for another 40 years I don't know,

not as rusty as most Mk2's



anyone have an idea for a narrow PAS rack, most people use XJ6 but then report bump steer and lack of self centring! 18" between the side rods on the Mk2,



also need to source / identify a shorter oil filter, 1" x 12 unf? thread, looking for a dumpy one as the XJ6 filter would hit the chassis rail and the Mk2 canister is a pain to change,

but then you still have five turns lock to lock, I do have a Punto setup someone modified for a BMW 2002 but want to sharpen up the steering as well,
