I had to do them twice. As I used temporary bolts to hold it in place.. I then ordered some counter sunk machine screws and realised they are bigger head diameter. So had to very carefully re drill the countersink without scratching itIn the second pic ^^, did you paint that first then countersink the holes? If not, how did you get such a neat finish?
Cheers mate. Its only temporary put together just so I don't loose bits and it frees up more room lolLooking good, Spencer![]()
Don't you ever take stuff apart, and then wonder how it goes back together again? With bits left over ? probably just me.
What machine do you have...taking a saddle off is sometimes straight forward. ..other times its a pain as you have to take half the machine apart. Taking stuff apart isn't always easy. I make it look easy in the photos but I don't show every picture. Most lathes headstock or screw box are all similar in that they run shafts and key ways . Study the item you want to take apart and take lots of pictures of every bit you do.....as for cleaning lol....there are certain things regarding cleaning I keep under my collar.Amazing work as ever.
I really need to pick your brains one of these days.
Hopefully in the next month or two, I'm going to get reunited with my lathe and workshop, I'm still unsure how to get my saddle off (my lathe).
I'll boink you in a thead one day.

And I'll probe you over cleaning techniques.
Cracking work, drive on...
