Lovely job!
I will second that and up it to superb job!
Lovely job!
Considering all I gave Pete was the teeth count, PCD size, some measurements with a Lidl digital micrometer (which I don't entirely trust) and a scan of the old gear with a tape measure in the picture I am amazed.
Thanks Pete!
New bearings have arrived as well so I can think about putting the gearbox back together.
I have found that the quill has been bent in use at some point. There is about a 0.95mm deviation from one side of the tip to the other when rotated 180 on a flat surface (photo to follow). Any ideas for straightening?
I'm thinking about mounting it back in the shaft to hold it and then applying a gentle whack or two with a mallet. Unfortunately I don't have a lathe (or drill press yet) to hold it in to apply a more exact method.
