To make sure the resonance of the decal is full, it can often be beneficial to make a white 'shadow' of the decal - in this case a rectangle. That way the decal won't fade into the colour of the paint. I've tried using inkjet paper and spray adhesive on tools when I made my own label, it worked for a brief period but after a few months peeled off.
I've got another decal to do. It's this to go on the gong I'm renovating for my daughter's brass band.
It will be on a black background. I've got clear and white waterslide paper, not sure which one to go for. Anybody tried anything similar on a dark background? I was thinking that the white paper may help with opacity so the lighter colours will stand out against the black paint it is going on.
