He said a 7/8 unf nut goes on and that's 1.8mm pitch.

i was more wondering if i had any brass large enough to make one, but i fear i may not as it is likely 32mm AF, so larger across the points and my largest stock is currently 30mm...only stuff i have larger than 30mm is a 60mm bit of en8 thats waiting to be turned into a collet chuck

I don't know how to individually quote comments from various people on one post - so this is a reply to "qwakers" - "BrokenBiker" - "hotponyshoes" and "droopshoot.

Please see photo for across the flats measurement in mm -

Nut No.1 is one I have lost
Nut No.2 is the Chinese M22 x 1.75 which has insufficient depth in the thread for which I am trying to find a tap to run down.
Nut No.3 is the 7/8" UNF nut which runs down the male thread fine but has considerable axial and radial play - ie: it is "loose"

"Droopshoot" - the SJ Sportscars link you show is for the nuts on the original hinges, which is why there are 8 per car, or 4 per door - I do still have the remnants of the original hinges, (after cutting them into pieces to get them out), and can confirm the nuts as shown on your link are smaller.

"Qwakers" - I am 100% sure it is a 1.75 pitch and 1.5 or 2.0 - which as you point out are more common.

I only have round stock to 30mm at the moment, would need to be atleast 36 to get a good hex cut into it for 32mm AF.
