Original plan was to use my restored Figaro to do the local running around...but ULEZ has put a stop to that.
How old is it?

I'm doing the same... the EV simply replaces our daily driver (petrol Tucson)...nothing else needs to be changed.I'd still have my ICE classics etc for personal use would never move away from that which is now at disease level and uncurable petrolhead.
I seriously considered going down ev repair route after employment.
Didn't take long to realise it's not viable.
That is a comment from a business man ready to take up full time gardening and dog walking!I am standing back from EV/PHEV repairs from this point - because I would rather sit about drinking tea at my age - than working hard for very little money.
Possible 'urban myth' then being passed around by fitters.....arson seems a bit extreme for a leaky windscreen....My daughter is a director of Belron, the company that owns Autoglass, the fire was on September 29th at their Manchester workshop on Oakhill Trading Estate, Devonshire Road, Worsley, and did indeed spread to their storage unit next door. The vehicle was a BMW, whether it was EV my daughter didn't say, however arson was the cause of the fire. The car and its owners were well known to the police; it was in overnight. The premises were broken into sometime around 9pm and the vehicle set alight. Three other customer's cars were damaged as were two Autoglass vans. There was a substantial loss of stock. It was briefly covered in the Bolton News.
Be amusing if it was an arson & terrorist event .The fire/sprinkler designers have got to seriously up the ante and a bit sharpish, cant have a burning car bringing an airport to a standstill. These airports have enormous attenuation tanks/ reservoirs to hold back all of the runway water run off in case of a massive spill, if that was pumped in there the fire would have been out in seconds or the very least controlled, totally unreasonable to expect firefighters to risk life and limb dealing with fires like this. I know its all insured losses but we ultimately pick up the tab for it

Funnily enough I was looking at an article yesterday....I think a company called byd reckon their "blade" batteries are a lot safer. They do a nail test on them apparently ...Whatever it was inside smells really pleasant. Is that same true of a car battery ?
20 yrs ago near me . . ie before EV . .Some news article I read
I just saw this on Instagram, Farcebook, no idea how to link to it so took some screen grabs.

More likely the driver self combusted from the effort involved in both making the decision AND actually using the indicator.Did one of the BMW drivers use an indicator?
Maybe the switch was full of combustible dust or fluff from lack of use...
