The plug-in hybrid Range Rovers have petrol engines. I think the only diesel hybrid is the mild hybrid, with a small ( 200 Wh - only 4 Ah ) 48 volt battery.

My daughter is a director of Belron, the company that owns Autoglass, the fire was on September 29th at their Manchester workshop on Oakhill Trading Estate, Devonshire Road, Worsley, and did indeed spread to their storage unit next door. The vehicle was a BMW, whether it was EV my daughter didn't say, however arson was the cause of the fire. The car and its owners were well known to the police; it was in overnight. The premises were broken into sometime around 9pm and the vehicle set alight. Three other customer's cars were damaged as were two Autoglass vans. There was a substantial loss of stock. It was briefly covered in the Bolton News.

I was going to reply "or a car bomb" having seen a brief video on this evening's news showing how quickly it blew out the parking garage floor, but seeing your clip has made me rethink now.
Wouldn't put it past some terrorist crowd to come up with such a scenario though....

Indeed! It wouldn't really fit would it, with the current narrative being pushed for an EV to be found the cause
If you can blame an ICE vehicle so much the better.I'd have an EV tomorrow btw just for the Hell if and so I could build a PV car port.
Serious question for the EV users, does driving an EV make your willy feel funny like when you feel the throb of a V8?

Mine arrived about 10 days ago so all my posts from now on can be considered biased I reckon

I may have an EV at some point in year or 3 who knows. I would not park or charge it near my cherished classics though!
I suspect there's more risk from any number of vehicles running around with rotting fuel lines from modern fuel constituents.

I was in the same boat....but the use case was compelling for me living in a big city.
I did think about the safety risk in an accident...but in nearly 30 years I've not had an accident so really how much risk is there factoring in that 99% of my driving will be at 20mph
.Original plan was to use my restored Figaro to do the local running around...but ULEZ has put a stop to that.

Mine would be a company car if offered and purely for financial reasons really. I'd still have my ICE classics etc for personal use would never move away from that which is now at disease level and uncurable petrolhead.I was in the same boat....but the use case was compelling for me living in a big city.

I'm doing the same... the EV simply replaces our daily driver (petrol Tucson)...nothing else needs to be changed.
Figaro is a 1992...quite a wait till it's exempt
....I may look at an older mercedes...I really like the 230 coupe from the 1980s.

I don't think I have lost any money dealing with EV/PHEV vehicles - it is just I have not gained too much either. Been expensive to gear myself up...
My only competition 45miles away - has shut the doors - but he was a new start - and did not have any established ICE customers. Plus from what I can make out from a few phone chats and one personal meeting - this chap was a nice bloke and capable (ex main dealer tech) - also he was well funded from what I can make out.
I am standing back from EV/PHEV repairs from this point - because I would rather sit about drinking tea at my age - than working hard for very little money.
