Didn't you have an ingenius method of removing the nails?As you know I burn scrap pallet wood. The thicker stuff from 2 way pallets thst nobody wants. Incredibly clean burning. Only a tiny bit of smoke on start. No smells outside the house not that I have any neighbours. I even save all the nails for scrap
No. My mate who strips the pallets runs them through a horizontal band saw. It cuts the nails in the gap between the block or bearers and the planks.Didn't you have an ingenius method of removing the nails?
I just chuck the wood in the fire. Use a magnet to get rid of all the nails.

because im cutting it up with a circular saw
i used to strip all the wood off of everything and then flatten the nails to the planks by standing on them
nowadays i cut the strips off and leave the nails in the wood then i get a nailed block thats 4 x 6" thick so i just throw that in
when cleaning out the ashes its a magnet but i dont need to do on mine as i dont have air flow under the ashes but if i did i would need the magnet first
