The load is just going back to the walls / stacks at 4 points as I see it. Thus the new "platform" doesn't impact on the existing structure.
It's just an option. The idea I'm favouring more as I think about it is simply angle irons resin anchored onto the opposing walls and the new joists sit on those.

if your going to take full lengths up there then go wall to wall and use wall joist hooks like you suggested in post 19 then you can use it as a proper bedroom floor if you so choose to do in the future
Distance between walls is 3100mm
Distance between inside face to inside face of the purple beams is 3664mm
wall to wall is shorter and easier to get up into the loft area and all you would need is a grinder and a drill with screws to fasten them
as this will create its own supported floor and all you would need is a hole for the entrance
if only a light weight floor only storing xmas stuff and few suitcase boxes up there
then use shorter lengths and bridge between the old beam and the solid wall by using 6x2s or 7x2s with screwed beam plates to beam thats there already
its light weight as long asd your not putting to much weight up there
it really depends on what your storing/having up there
personally id floor it out from wall to wall by breaking halfway into the loft area and opening it to pull up the 3100 lengths of beams

This would be pretty easy for me. Some angle iron (yellow) bolted to the opposing walls / stacks with resin anchors. Easy to position / level and drill. New joists (again shown yellow) sit on them. Might have to tweak around the purlin supports.

Be aware there is a building reg regarding the area of loft that you can board over before it automatically becomes a loft conversion.
My brother got caught out by this, he had boarded the entire loft out.
A while later as he was putting in a small velux in for a bit of light, a rather picky BC officer drove by and put a stop to it.
Caused a whole lot of bother, he had to take some of the boarding out avoid all sorts of issues with BC.
Moral of the story is keep yer head down!

by fitting a velux in your brother was trying it on by creating another room up there
When we built our extension i foolishly listened to our builder who said "Go for a truss frame roof, Its cheaper". So we did, years later we need space & the loft is a forest of struts, An absolute pain in the ass to move about up there & store anything in what is a very large space.
Effectively its done us out of a 12ft by 9ft room. Its going to be remedied before long, brother in law is a civil engineer & can be relied upon to draw up whats required. I wont be fitting a velux.

My brother is not stupid, he's a highly respected physics professor, university lecturer, and author.
Like most of his sort he is polite and totally honest, he would be mortified to be accused of cheating.
He was simply not aware that he was doing anything wrong, just doing a bit of DIY. It was the smallest velux there is, just for a little light, he saw no harm in that.

its because of idiots doing as they please including diyers and builders and professionals and bodgers
that councils have come down hard and demand certificates for all types of jobs in the home
need a certificate for electrics, plumbing, kitchen fitted new bathroom the list is endless
dosnt matter if it was the smallest velux he fitted in the roof or fitted a roof window he tried to fit something that wasnt there before
the fact he got away with fitting a floor in the loft good on him many do anyway
just dont push your luck by trying to make another room and thats what he did knowingly by trying to fit in a velux window because he wanted light in that area

Never one to overcomplicate things.....
It did cross my mind to fit a small Velux but honestly not for the normal purpose of letting in light / ventilation.
When I clear out the old insulation it's going to be minging. I wondered if I fitted a small roof light I could rig a bfo dust extractor in the opening on a big ply board. I could also roll the bagged crap down the roof into the back garden. It'd save taking any contaminated crap down through the hatch (into the house) and make for a better working environment.
A functional roof light at the end of the day would be a bonus.
I'm quite serious....
A while back I scored this in line extractor. It was being binned as "a bearing had gone". It simply had a bit of stray plastic lodged in there that banged around when it got switched on. Score to me!
I had a practice run making an in-line vac when doing some in room sanding. It was an epic fail. I grafted a galv handrail cowl to the extractor. Just didn't have enough suck with the reduced diameter inlet:

My chippie mate fitted a 230V engine hoist directly above his loft hatch. Hung from a bolted through, steel collar tie.
The trades coming in used it a lot when fitting his PV storage batteries and the new gas boiler.

So if you put a roof light in but there's no stairs it can still be deemed a loft conversion? Thought it needed proper stairs.
Can't see accessing liveable space by a loft ladder being very practical...
Mind you, with all this beds in sheds stuff that goes on!
