Thing is though, are you only saying that because they used to do them at 80? Odds are if this £120 version was the first one on the market, we would all be saying what a bargain it was...Only plus with these ones is the pilot arc torch but from £80 to £120 I wouldn't say its worth it considering you can buy the torch separately for €30 in Germany and its only the 30a cutter
Well the first £80 version was 40a as far as I remember, they then dropped it to 30a and made it 40a wit the internal compressor one.Thing is though, are you only saying that because they used to do them at 80? Did you make sure there was actually air getting through to the nozzle and make sure the connections were tight/nozzle parts?Hi all
just an update tried my replacement plasma cutter from Liddl again yesterday had his own dedicated 16 amp supply
compressor running at 6 bar plasma cutter set 4/ 4.5 still a load of rubbish did do some videos to upload but seem to have lost them
so now lidl has got the two plasma cutters back they started with
When I first tried mine out I ran the nozzle along a bit of 1/8” flat strip to get a straight cut. The result was pretty bad as the arc just kept spluttering and cutting out. It seems that the copper nozzle was arcing across to the edge of the flat strip. When I used a bit of 40mm box section as a guide, because it was the ceramic rubbing along it there was no arcing and a much better cut. Anyone else notice this happening?

I noticed nozzle has to be perfect to get a straight cutThe horse has bolted now, but I was curious as to why the slag kerf went so far left on the 6mm cut.
There seemed to be enough air to push melted steel further than 6mm, so why did it go sideways?
Shame they won't sell the torch individuallyLocal lidl has now reduced the pilot arc units to £99.99 to get them shifted! Also have consumables for sale, though they are cheaper on ebay!
