That reads as a pilot arc torch, have you got a pic?
bought a pilot arc torch from Lidl Germany for my Lidl Parkside 40amp performance integrated compressor version , have used it on a few tests bits so far and the torch does not seem to have the punch as the non pilot arc, but was challenging it on painted and rusted metal - which is the point.

@Ruffian I'm using similar specs but by f**k I needed some gloves on!

Yea I know probably should have,
But I was holding the camera and letting my mate use the plasma,

So I didn't feel a thing

(Have got a set of gloves to attach to the plasma for next time now thouvg)

I do have a 32 amp socket but running from a 13 amp can't see making much difference with this

These cutters are meant to have the tip running across the work..are you giving it full contact and what PSI are you feeding it?

Hey all, I picked up one of these lidl plasma's in Glasgow last month. I've tried it out a few times to good results on LCS under 3mm. I have found the rubber o-ring is popping out on occasion and needing to be re-inserted. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations about where to buy spares from?

My one is slightly different to yours it's got another lead can't think of a word you pull the trigger and you have got an instant start even in midair
it didn't Too bad on full power through 3mm I'm running the from a 13 amp supply and a new compressor 50 L
they both run flat out no problem I fault maybe it was me so I just held the torch there didn't go through 5mm

What's the capacity of the compressor (not just the tank) - my plasma (not a lidl one) won't cope on my smaller compressor - pressure drops too quick and it can't keep up.

You do have to go slower on thicker material. Good few videos out there on how to use one efficiently.

Make sure the torch consumables are tight as a couple of people earlier in this topic found the insulator and tip not tight enough.

The one the jet comes out of that was loose but had tightened

In addition to roofman re the pressure, was it measured at the machine or compressor? It should be measured/regulated at the machine.

I have the 40A one with the internal compressor - although I am not keen (I will be hooking it up to my compressor) - and it worked quite adequately (as a first try) from a three pin plug (13A) on a too-long extension lead. I didn’t try it at full power, mind, but it blew through about 4mm with little effort.

At first I was using the spacer that comes with it until I cut through it on the back of the plasma cutter is set to
4-4.5 as stated to be honest I do not know about the compressor side and did not think to check what it set out but I will

50 litre tank capacity provides an air displacement of 11CFM/ 300 litres per minute and a maximum pressure of 100psi / 7bar.

Had two in my Lidl just now...left them on the shelf!

At my second lidl store they had 2 I bought one and returned it at 3.30 as no pilot arc was surprised to find that there was still one there so got that and exchanged it
think I should have got a refund I may do tomorrow unless I'm doing something wrong

It seemed to go through 3mm quite good clean at halfway turn it up full power for 5mm and the metal was polished ground clean held in one spot forever sometimes it went through

Doesn't look like you have enough/any air - run mine at full pressure - check your gauges on compressor outlet and inlet to the plasma - set it to use external air if needed.

You do need fresh air under the piece being cut - I assume you aren't trying to cut with it on the bench as per your photo?

You assume correct it was overhanging the table outside
I have set the plasma as recommended 4/4.5 but did not think for one minute about the compressor will retry tomorrow

I have had the same, my bodge cure was to cram a couple of fat o-rings behind the existing o-ring to support it, it seems to me the cup is a couple of mm to short and not fully covering the o-ring, but my bodge has held well

Not to annoy everybody but last week there were over 20 of the pilot arc units in my local lidl unsold. Any other time they would be sold out in a few hours, looks like people are really cutting back!

I think that is because the smart ones know the gas/elec prices have gone up, they also know its now summer so no real big deal, but come October when the next rise hits it will be like two rises at once and everyone is going to suffer.

Still experiencing price gouging on ebay, sellers are wanting £200 for them..

There is another thread with somebody trying to source the pilot arc torch for the integrated compressor version.
I think the torch itself was fairly expensive so that might explain the price increase?

I wonder if the torch from the current version is compatible with the other machine?

I got the pilot arc torch from Lidl Germany, it was 30 euro
