There are 8 new 30amp ones in the brand new Lidl in Gloucester, by st Oswald's park today.
Hopefully some of the 'entrepreneurs' got their fingers burnt, there is no way I would pay an ebay trader for one but I am waiting eagerly for them to come around again.Surprised that no greedy so and so hasn't bought them to then put them on ebay for twice the price.![]()
I have the recent UK 30 amp version, anyone willing to share how to tweak for greater cutting depth?
has this actually been done yet or is it just hearsay ?It is "The More Powerful One."
There's a pot you can tweak to raise the upper current setting.
Lidl factor in that many won't bother or be able to comply with their terms. I bought a foot pump, thinking that'll never last 3 years. So when it failed after 6 months I took it back to the store with the receipt, like one does. No, no, I was instructed to email some address, so I did:
Good afternoon,
I purchased this pump last year on 13/03/2017. It came with a 3 year warranty.
The frame has come apart in normal use and it is not repairable.
Please advise me how I can get a refund.
Regards

personal experience of dealing with warranty claims ,same as above, dealt direct with germany, and the manufacturer, it was a pressure washer, turn switch stopped working, called customer services ,was told to stop using it immediatly and manufacturer would be in touch by email to arrange a repair or replacement as it was approx 8 months old. sure enough they emailed and gave a phone no. , so i called them , couldnt be more helpfull, we discussed a replacement and they agreed no questions, a new 1 would be dispatched from germany FOC, and be with me in approx 21 days. 8 days later a new machine was in my possetion, i left it in its box and took the old 1 to bits gave the switch a squirt of wd 40 and its never given any problems since. However 1 day it stopped putting out any pressure, so just called customer services again ,same as last time a replacement was with me in 10 days , i took the lance off to fit to the new 1 once i had it ,and surprise a small stone was lodged in the connection , a tap on the end and out it flew ,working fine . So for my £69.99 i now have 3 working pressure washers ,2 brand new still boxed & in the loft .Beat that KARCHER. any1 else hav similar stories, parkside you are priceless for the diy man....
has this actually been done yet or is it just hearsay ?
not sold on. pal. Some might say that's taking the mick a bit, given you already had a working replacement you never used, and on a par with buying up machines to sell at a profit![]()
A warranty situation that's generous and based on fairness, trust and integrity can only survive that way if it doesn't get abused. Increasingly, suppliers will only provide a repair or replacement if the defective one is returned for evaluation.
I don't agree.
What would happen to the broken pressure washers or screen if they were sent back?
They would be broken for the materials to be recycled and the rest going to landfill.
They certainly would not have tried to repair a simple fault.
The same number of pressure washers would have been sent to postie john but two would have ended up in land fill, not in his loft and they will be used when the first one fails for good.
Same applies with my screens.
Also how many people either don't have a receipt or can't be bothered to put in a claim?
People are not afraid to buy from Lidl because they know they have a great guarantee whether they use it or note and I'm certain most don't even if they have a valid claim.
It's a calculation the bean counters make when setting the price.
Different market targetwhy is it makita ,bosch karcher ,etc only give a years guarantee when lidl ,aldi can give 3 ,for a fraction of the price. also i must add brother bought a karcher from a local agent ,ex display as it was out of the box,in there window, it packed in after 3 months ,he took it back they would not honour the 1 yr guarantee stating that it was exdisplay,he had firm words with them and the incident was resolved days later ,machine was repaired and given back ,they didnt say if it was repaired with new parts or not. But the workshop engineer did tell him that the lower end models were only good for 16 hours work then the plastic inners wear out causing loss of pressure and leaks. sorryfftopic:
Have to? They maybe just think there’s more of a market selling them for £80 for a 30A with a domestic plug over a 40A one for £100 with a blue plug.Because they have to sell them on the mainland with 13A plugs on

Not sure I agree with that when it comes to pressure washers - Bosch/Karcher I don't think wold be considered professional level washers by many people...Karcher may have a professional line but the majority of their gear I see as being aimed at home users.Because people use Makita, Bosch and Karcher for professional use, so suffer wear/tear defects on average, whereas lidl/aldi power tools are used mostly by weekend DIYers and by the end of the first year, generally be brand new still (if they've lasted that long)
Sweeping generalisations, but you hopefully get my point.

Yeah, I kind of see the point when talking about pro tools, (though Bosch Pro (Blue) does come with an extended warranty if you register - Can't remember if 2 or 3 years) - my point being though that even their "domestic" offerings don't come with the same 3 year warranty as Lidl/Aldi.Like I said, sweeping generalisations, and aimed at power tools in general.
