Lidl plasma cutter

Got one today in Merthyr Wales at 5pm, 3 on the shelf (now down to two)

Fortunately lidl Northern Ireland is part of Lidl Ireland (an EU member) so will be supplied with European standard equipment. Here on the mainland Lidl UK distribute the equipment which must obviously meet certain requirements.

That's a classic tactic to make it obvious if someone has tampered with it (I know because I've designed such things in before!). It'll be calibrated in the factory and it'll be the first thing the service department look at if one gets returned.

Drop of acetone on the cracked varnish, tickle with a small paintbrush - just like touching up my nails, ducky.

I have the recent UK 30 amp version, anyone willing to share how to tweak for greater cutting depth?

Does anyone know why Lidl are selling a 40 amp version in Ireland, while in the UK it's 30 amps? How high can the amperage be tweaked?
I was in one of my local stores last night and there was still 7 or 8 of them there.

Why would I need two of the Lidl plasma cutters I've had one since last year when they first appeared on the shelves.

Because they have to sell them on the mainland with 13A plugs on, not quite enough to supply 40A - so they turn down the max setting pot on the PCB...

Ah, now I understand. Thanks. Mine had a 16 amp plug on it out of the box.

Plus €25 or thereabouts for the courier and it's definitely not worth it.
