Inflation needs to be taken into account too . The current government may well hit 26 % by the time they are done , so perhaps personal imports from China could actually be a better choice .When these are mass produced what price point do you think they will come at?
£2k, £1500? I thought those induction heat tools would drop in price as they got popular but they don't seem to have, in fact they are way more than we paid a few years ago. (Exchange rate a factor obviously)
Are we not making our own , for military and sensitive equipment's so are not reliant on third party actors for supplies and therefore not likely to be strangled in supply ?Ahem! Chinese goods...
Is there a chance they're looking to now wean us off their traditional, cheap welders onto something more expensive and "must have"?
Can't be a coincidence that their industrial / military / space infrastructure is streaking ahead fuelled by our insatiable need.
Imagine these widely adopted in industry, our armed forces etc then they switch off the spares supply.
The optics and control system yes. Perhaps even the laser itself. That's why it costs millions for a 50kw unit and you can get industrial ones 4x the power for probably 1/10the price. People always think military hardware is cutting edge. It isn't. The tech World moves far to fast for them. Are we not making our own , for military and sensitive equipment's so are not reliant on third party actors for supplies and therefore not likely to be strangled in supply ?
