Not for me. Someone asked and I wasn't keen on anything rover. But didn't know. It's basically Freelander running gear with overcomplicated electronics added on.
I'm with @Kayos on this, bash anything British until it dies and buy French rubbish, or even worse, overpriced German stuff....Ahhh another Land Rover thread that turns into bashing land rovers

Don’t worry - daily driver for 15 years is a Td5 Defender. Wife drives a Disco 4.Ahhh another Land Rover thread that turns into bashing land rovers
Thought Freelander 2 was Ford, Rover being long gone . . .Not for me. Someone asked and I wasn't keen on anything rover. But didn't know.
Your mate works for a lr dealer , so pretty much all he's going to see will have a green oval on it .Mate works for an Lr dealer. Says by far and away it’s the model they have the most issues with. Says it all for me
Yes, he works for a dealer of motors that are traditionally not the worlds most reliable, and that’s the least reliable of any of them.Your mate works for a lr dealer , so pretty much all he's going to see will have a green oval on it .
One of the models will have to be at the top/bottom of regulars and there are a lot of evoques about .
^^^ Interesting, since I run LRs for their cheapness to fix, or at least the ease of getting exact parts, not whole units. Depends on the vehicle, I suppose. Recent example:
My mate has a Freelander 1, which I look after. Set of front discs and pads: £60. Left caliper: £40. Did the clutch a while back, £150 for a decent AP one plus thrust bearing.
On his Disco 3, an upper coolant housing cracked. Got the exact part for £30. I dread to think what a similar repair would be on a Merc.
Best selling small SUV in EU 97-02, or something like that. Wife had two over about 10 years and they were nice to drive, useful, and pretty good to work on. I wish they still made them.reckon a Freelander 1 - was maybe the best LR product ever.
£2500 for a steering rack. Unbelievable that's 5 times more than I paid for my current car that's never let me down in 8 years.Evoque steering racks crack the casings and leak fluid.
Costs are earth shattering to replace. £2.5k for the rack alone.
Saying that - I put a £4.5k one on a 2019 Merc E Class estate not so long ago for the same reason.
------
I would not own a JLR vehicle - costs to repair are just too much for me - even with me providing the free labour.
