Jointing big(ish) cables

I'm trying to add a spur off an existing 32A circuit in my workshop. The picture below gives an idea of my current (failed) attempt to get this wired.

The terminal strip is supposedly a 60A version. There is intended to be another 6MM SWA cable coming out the bottom of the adaptable box which will go to a 5 pin 32A switched socket. The problem is that I can't get the second connection into the hole in the top of the choc block. Any suggestions for a better solution would be most welcome.

A bigger box, as has been mentioned before.

With heavy wire, you need much more room than with thinner wire.

I've taken to pre-bending the stuff with pliers (careful not to nick the insulation)
and still it's a bear getting it all pushed back in, and the cover put on.
Mine was #6 TFFN stranded wire BTW.

Dealing with the entrance wire in the last few years, wrestling aluminum 2/0 and 4/0
is hard on the hands.

I'd initially start with a bigger box ,then put ferrules on the wires ,as said pre bend the cables and use maybe one of those

They make them in different sizes and number of connectors

I presume you've already tried with the block released and then wire-up and re-fitted? I did notice that the block has nuts and not screw heads, just to make things harder. If it's armoured cable (?) then a 'trouser' box would be better suited. Although it'd be tight for space again.
