Everything I've worked on, the SCR has been downstream, but i rarely deal with cars.Certainly in car tech, it's common but not universal - other JLR models have the SCR after the DPF
An efficiency fault like that on something French would usually be the SCR cat failing, as they only seem to be good for 80-100k.
Also seen plenty DPF failures on Stellantis things, which results in DeNOX efficiency faults as the SCR gets coated in soot.
Although the latest Boxer and Sprinter engines have two adblue injectors. The usual location, but also one immediately after the turbo, however I've not dug into what the the cat setup is yet.
