It's bigger than the cooler on the old mw2000. But it's a quiet cooler this one.

Yes its an impressive process. Particularly the fact that sound joints between steel and aluminium can be done with it.

EWM do that trick with coldarc too. Not many applications outside of the automotive industry though.
Boat-building too I guess. I think that aluminum wheelhouses on steel workboats are quite common to keep the CofG low. I recall seeing a small all-steel workboat being built at Ardrossan - the type with a small wheelhouse or cuddy forward. When it was launched it floated so bow-down that they had to cut the steel wheelhouse off and replace it with an aluminium one :-)

It's a lump bigger than your cooler too Brad. It's quite a big machine. Your lorch is much smaller.

Ok can someone help me pls.
My cooler has decided to say no today and not attempt to run. The machine will only start up if the cooler option is selected as off. No good as I'm running a wc torch. I think the problem is linked to those two resisters on the board as now the cooler isn't running they don't get any temp in them any more where as before they got warm on tick over alone. This is a good thing as now they are getting an easy life. I'm not messing about trying so diagnose and fix the issue I'm gonna leave it as is and take away the link between welder and cooler.
I'm gonna take 230 v from the incoming run it down through the hole and feed the pump so it runs all the time.
Problem. The pump and fan are 24VDC. I have a bit of space in there so can someone link me to a small not too expensive transformer that I need to easily put 230v in and get 24v DC out. Pump is 5A. It must be doable surely.

Will it work?Pump and fan will run on 19v from a laptop power supply, if you have one.
I've got spare 24v psu's at the office but that's an hour and a half detour tomorrow morning
How do I use a lap top power supply ?

Cut the end off, it will probably be white core with braid round the edge, should be 19v between core and braid. Usually positive to the core. Wait till I get there tomorrow if you want and we can have a look over it. Let me see what I can 'find', I'm at the wife's house now, she's got tat everywhere.

White and black 'should' be +19v and 0v respectively. So white to red and black to black but please check with a multimeter first, or wait till I get there with a multimeter to check.

I think it wants more than 19v Hugh. It barely starts up.
