As said further up, Acetone is a stronger solvent than most brake&clutch cleaner, or IPA. It also doesn't leave any film or residue like I find thinners tends to. Easiest just to buy a gallon from ebay now and again - it lasts a good long while anyway as long as you use it for intended purpose.
A quick splash onto a rag, clean your components, cap the bottle and move both rag and bottle somewhere safe, then crack on and weld... It'll give you cleaner welds than not bothering at all.
