I have a routine, as advised my the doc.I generally have problems getting into any routine, getting to sleep etc., but sleep like a dead man once I'm actually asleep.
I am too. Sleep like the dead for the most. At least until a child wakes me me.I generally have problems getting into any routine, getting to sleep etc., but sleep like a dead man once I'm actually asleep.
Opposite way around for me.I have a routine, as advised my the doc.
Getting to sleep is not the issue, well the first sleep isn't.
It is the waking up, as in fully awake, approx. 4 hours later.
Not just waking up, but fully awake, I know that any more sleep is not going to happen.
So no point tossing and turning in bed.
ive had it a few yesars ago random going sleep at x time wake up x hours later
in the end spoke to someone about it they said dont lie in bed when you wake give it a half hour then get up and do some thing dont sit and watch tv take dog for walk tidy house clean bathroom do bit of diy (not noisy stuff) etc and carry on with your day going to bed as normal next night in the hope you are knacard enough to sleep a good night next night and repeat i was lucky lasted for only a year and a half and im back to normal but there where days where i was knackard all day and only a few hours at night you do get used to onluy having a few hours but takes a long time
Dunno. Cup of tea/coffee helps me back to sleep in the early hours and I tend to wake up less groggyDrinking coffee at 4:00 am might be an issue for me also.
alcohol does not help with long sleep, it triggers your fight or flight impulses and stops you from going to a deep sleep.
do plenty of physical activity it really helps, walks, running etc.. what ever you can manage.
Longer duration lower intensity exercise might be better for sleep.Again, opposite effect on me. The more I push myself physically, the more restless my body becomes. I've had nights where I couldn't sleep because my body becomes hyper active, & won't settle, even if I'm mentally knackered. Woke myself up no end of times due to my body being restless & muscles twitching etc.
Longer duration lower intensity exercise might be better for sleep.
was around 8 years@The_Yellow_Ardvark An odd question, but how old is your mattress? I recall there's a recommended age when you ought to change it? Just can't remember what that number is....
