Hiya,
a year or so back I aquired a pretty nice industrial diesel hot water pressure washer for peanuts as a "spares/repair".
So this last few weeks I have got stuck into it. Good news is all the electrics and main components seem to work (after a bit of fettling) I have spark, the diesel pump is pumping, the mahoosive electrical motor is turning etc.
The only problem is I am struggling to get pressure
The unit is running an Interpump series 51 pump and I have stripped and rebuilt multiple times.
I get water out of the pump but not at any great pressure.
So far I have replaced the cylinder seals and all the valve's (examples of old ones below) but it hasn't made any difference.
Have stripped and rebuilt the integrated unloader valve and even checked the motor is running at the recommended rpm (1450). The pistons all look good, no cracks or anything and the internals of the head look OK.
It feels like the piston seals are gripping ok and when I last pulled off the head (after fitting the new seal kit) it actually came away with the seals left on the pistons which seemed to imply they are a snug fit
Apart from replacing the whole pump head which I don't really want to do I am running out of ideas.
These things are well over £1200 new so its worth persevering with especially as the other stuff like electronics and burner seem to be working but I am scratching my head where else to go on the pump.
Just wonder if the collective here had any thoughts/ideas
Cheers,
MM
