I'm surprised you got away with 9-months without being picked up!
Square number plates can confuse the cameras, the Surf can be undetectable in carparks with ANPR...

Not square on a Range Rover - they're rectangular. Mind you it does have aSquare number plates can confuse the cameras, the Surf can be undetectable in carparks with ANPR...
I get free road tax for disability.
(It's one of the reasons the lexus is too small + low -mrsEgg + sis both need extra room + height to get in and out, plus I need the boot space and/or towing capacity for walker/mobility scooter.)
Yep miss my d3 base spec with auto and air suspension 2004 so only £336 road tax such a quiet and comfy car when it worked. If you get free road tax you can buy a D3 for almost throw away money. The post March 2006 ones jump to the £500 road tax bracket so are often cheaper.
I would challenge you go an drive a D3 TDV6 Auto and tell me it isn't nicer to drive than any of the Jap offerings. Sure they come with stigma but for the money there probably isn't a better tow vehicle out there. Ours has 207K and I think nothing of sticking the trailer on the back and doing 5-6 hours drving where the only stop is to load/unload.
Even though the suspension can be lowered at the touch of a button I would say getting a mobility scooter in the back is still a bit of a lift.
Don't expect to be doing anything more than 25mpg no matter what people tell you. If the display says 25 then it's actually doing around 22-23 max.
Ours in a 2005 S model which is lowest of the normal specs(there is a base spec one that has coil springs) but even that has has air-con, 4 heated seats, rear parking sensors, bluetooth phone(easily retrofitted with OEM parts).
As per my previous post, had a D3 for 3 years, hands down best vehicle I've had. Did everything really well including towing big loads. It was an 06 SE so had enough toys without all the added complexity of the HSE plus no sunroofsIf you get free road tax you can buy a D3 for almost throw away money. If buying one personally I would steer clear of show ponies IE high spec models that have been blinged up with big wheels, D4 lights etc and never done a days work in their lives and have low mileage. You'll pay a premium and it's entirely possible you enter at mileage window where stuff needs replacing. I know to many it sounds counter intuitive but you are far better to buy one with some miles that's had work done than a low mileage one thinking you won't need to spend any money it,
