In that case I surrender my 'fat bike' crown to you Sir; the Pan European is a paltry 330Kg wet - and you can pick it up single-handed as it can't fall right over, it lands on the engine bars at about 30 degrees.
I would never take my bikes out when road salt has been applied, or ice for that matter unless it was urgent. I'm sure you know what damage salt does to bikes, gets in places even hosing won't shift.
I always have one bike I will use in all weathers, that 91 trident is used all the year round and was in pretty good nick for its age, just spray it with ACF50 and use a Scottoiler. I was 28 before I used a car as my main form of transport, thought that was wimping out in the winterI would never take my bikes out when road salt has been applied, or ice for that matter unless it was urgent. Mr Chairnot many of you sassenachs have the gaelic. i have been riding for 37 years now, though am now lucky to live in a remote area with relatively quiet roads, deer are probably a bigger danger to me now
