That's only 1/2 HP, I need at least 1 1/2 HP to run all the motors.
Plus its 240V out so you would still need to either replace or mod the main motor. That's only 1/2 HP, I need at least 1 1/2 HP to run all the motors.
There's a guy selling a 5hp 240 volt single phase to 415 volt three phase Teco inverter for £175. Quite temped by it because I can just get it, plug it in and go, no playing with high voltages or taking anything apart. I'll need to check how much money I can spare but do you think it sounds worth it?
I don't think I could have been more clear about what I was asking but he replied :Dear drakesdragstar,
Could you clarify the output voltage of this unit please, the picture of the side of it says 240 volt but the listing says 415 volt?
I couldn't resist replyingI had it running a 3 hp 3phase from a single phase supply it did work the lift ok but the screws on the lift were knackered and the cost of that job was near as much as a new single phase lift so that's the way I went hope this helps regards dave
What, nooo, that doesn't answer my question in the slightest it's like you answered a completely different question. And stop wittering on about your broken car lift.
why make fun of him or talk to him in that way...he might not know what he,s selling and thats no crime.iff you keep the face hole shut and be respectfull you might get a bargin mateyHere's the listing: eBay. Half a line of he description is about the inverter and then he goes off on a tangent about his knackered car lift that it was running.
Upon closer inspection I can see it's only 240 volt output, despite the listing saying 415 volt so I messaged the seller, I said:

I couldn't resist replying
He hasn't replied.
I won't be buying it now.

How do I measure the threads then?
I've got a thread gauge now and one of them (I think it was the 14) fits nicely. How do I measure the diameter of the bolts though, i.e. I can put my callipers on them but then what should I round it to and where can I buy imperial bolts from?
where can I buy imperial bolts from?
Which is only 300+ miles down the road from me.The shop down the road from me...

Thanks mate but don't worry, I'm sure I can find some locally.Staying more on topic, if you know what sizes you want I can get a quote for you and look at posting them down.
Accuscrew sell nice stainless ones. I'd quite like to use cap head bolts because I think they look nicer but I think the head diameter is massive on the size I'd need.
Don't you young un's get taught anything? Up the road from Suffolk. From my house to my brothers (in lovely Bungay) is 359 miles
