I'm getting older and don't like lifting heavy things anymore, so mechanical ades are the way forward. Also the house is in the process of being insulated/rewired so an ideal time to pull up the floorboards and install those nice little extras...

So out comes the fag packet design, sort of........most of the materials have been acquired
Heavy wall tube for the upright, 7" x 4" I beam for the jib, various bits of bar stock for bearing/pin housings, angle iron for braising and steel plate for top and bottom mountings.
1. My design drawing of the jib crane.
2. The top bearing housing pictures, which will be welded into the upright tube.
