well as I said earlier I intend to do a leak of, but rainig today , but looking at the manifold etc I presume you have to take that all of ,remove cover, refit manifold to do the test? pure geuss work as used to iveco vans, not worked on a mitsi before.
have a injection specialist who will test injectors for free if I take them to him,but warned me the are stupid expensive to replace.
Strangley when misfiring earlier it wasnt bellowing smoke/unburnt diesel..but was defo only 3 cylinders firing.
So delphi s twin brother arrived, now one of my brothers is computer wizz unlike myself, he has tried to get a talking to b with no success.
flat battery so changed that, tractor one fitted now, wizzs it over, starts, but misfire just above tick over, pull injector leads one by one, one and two test ok but fault cleared so cant tell if misfire is on 3 or 4 yet.
did notice tiny spark when connecting battery, now used to this on the trucks with tach but should there be any draw with everything off on a mitsi?
Much thanks to hot chef who has sent discs to work the delphi, my brother has now got obd reader working..
the faults are
large fuel leak(this I was told)
1274/75 manufacture specific ?
P0089 pressure reg(scv) the main suspect by most.
and the one I cant find anything about so far P0628, fuel pump A control circuit low, so I need to find out if this is fuel pump in tank fault or wiring to pump?
now on iveco dailys its common for low pressure electric pump to pack up and give these same symptoms, but raining all day so havent a chance to check if pump is working.
Well refitted reg(scv) with correct flange o seal, cleared faults, run it and delphi shows no faults at all, but its firing on 3 just above tick over..
So as its not going on road for a month or two, I an going to strip down tva,egr etc and give them a good decoke, and whilst in there get injectors pulled & tested.
did check the crank pulley for play, luckily its solid, but will do a full service belts, rollers etc etc . crank/cam sensors the works.
It would be nice to find the fault though first before full service.cheers
Fitted a new pressure reg(scv) but no differance what so ever, delphi still reads no faults , but misfire/smoke around 1400/1900 revs, smooth running before and after, that eliminates electrical fault and probably egr, so back to faulty injector most likely.unless its main pump or tva !
will carry on with strip down as per plan weather/time dependant.cheers
