The braiding rots and either goes soft, not an issue.
Or goes hard and chaffs the rubber hoses, then you get a leak.
Then the head gasket fails.
Then you wait 6 hours for the AA to recover you.

The turbos on this weren't that bad, the worst part was removing and refitting all the various heatshields around them.

i stripped all the wipers out and scuttle tray..makes a massive improvement

Get a MK IV Golf 1.9 TDI. Either with a rotary pump or PD, it'll last forever.



They fall apart quite rapidly!

Ditto the mk4 golf. Indestructible. I used to look after forestry kit for one customer. Complete tosser. He could wreck anything. Seriously. Pickups, plant, everything. The one thing he could not destroy was mk4 golfs. He had a few as he’d ruin the innards but never killed one.

This **** had a leaky fuel can in his navara. 25l diese in the cab. Drilled holes all over the floor to let the diesel out. That is what I was dealing with.

He could not kill golfs. Mate of mine was after a car. Told him about idiot boy and he ran them for years until you can’t really get them without moon miles on them. Then moved onto mk5 but they not as good

You need a top hose to let hot coolant into the rad and a bottom hose to return cooler coolant to the engine. The rest is unnecessary.

bring back the old rads a fan that works of the engine and a wax thermostat use the kis rule / keep it simple

If so, I feel for you.

No it had rust welded 13mm nuts that had eroded to 12.5mm nuts so a 13 was too big and a 12 to small..heat and the pink soup in my skull got over the problem though

I picked up a swiss client, earlier, this afternoon, to collect his soft top BMW from thé workshop, 800 meters, i pulled over to pick him up, hé tried to open thé door, but no, Pug said no, pressed buttons, no, had to stretch over, and open manually, hé said child locks, i said, No, Pug....

same with mine have to lean over and open manualy. it has most gizmo s going as well

all still working....
wanted a pass door handle , 1979 Nissan pick up.....next day del from the local car parts place not the dealer....
can't be bad.....
and I still love my 1999 VW T4 Kombi...did ask at a VW dealer (2 years ago) in UK for a replacement for the T4
LWB plus a full leather trim 5 seats....£54,000....no thank u....
my van dont look outta place here...dents and all......hahaha.....
