Yeh I went to have a look and play around with it before I bought it. The head seems noisy to me but I'm comparing it to a belt change Bridgeport so it's maybe nothing. I can't complain about the deal as the guy threw in some tooling, a vice and a hefty discount on his asking price.
Excellent.
I was always on the lookout for a CNC Bedmill as they are much more rigid than a knee mill and you could fairly easily retrofit a toolchanger. The Chiron came up though so I got all I wanted and more
The guy demonstrated it tearing a few mm off a lump of steel, I wasn't sure if I should have hit the emergency stop button or just hoofed it out the door incase it all went Pete Tong but it was fine.
It's got an air operated draw bar too which is nice. No tool changer though.
Not quite as good if thinking of a toochanger in the future but it can still be done. Friend had a Matchmaker that I just about bought the toolchanger from, it was what they called the one armed bandit toolchanger.
