In our pharmacy we had a large sharps bin, anyone bringing in needles etc was handed the sharps bin for them to use. That was easy. We also gave sharps bins free of charge those that needed them and swapped them when full.
Then we had the silly sods who would bring in their late father's/mother's etc old medication. The company had had a few needle stick injuries when the bag was handed over. A new system was introduced, we had to get the person to empty the bag into a large tray so we could check for sharps and pick them out with tweezers.
